Yi embroidery traces its origins back to the Nanzhao Kingdom of the Tang Dynasty. Back then, Yi women turned the colors of the setting sky into threads at their fingertips, using 72 intricate stitches to weave the collective memory of their people. With needles as brushes and threads as ink, they dyed with plants and minerals drawn from the mountains and rivers around them. This heritage has been passed down through generations, not only preserving their stories—but telling a timeless Chinese story.
Beyond the embroidery, the sandal features soft, supple premium calf leather, creating a striking contrast with the ancient handcraft, bringing tradition to life with a fresh, modern energy.
